چکیده

This paper concerns the generation of a C0-semigroup by a streaming operator with general dissipative boundary conditions. Here, we give a third approach based on the construction of the generated semigroup without using the Hille-Yosida’s Theorem. The first approach, based on the HilleYosida’s Theorem, was given by Dautray [8], Protopopescu [9] and Voigt [10]. The second approach, based on the characteristic method, was given by Beals [1] and Protopopescu [9].

An Analytical Approach to the Effect of Viscous Dissipation on Shear-Driven Flow between two parallel plates with Constant Heat Flux Boundary Conditions

An investigation has been made to analyze the effects of viscous dissipation on the heat transfer characteristics for both hydro-dynamically and thermally fully developed, laminar shear driven flow between two infinitely long parallel plates, where the upper plate is moving in an axial direction at a constant speed. On the basis of some routine assumptions made in the literature, a close form a...

Semigroups for General Transport Equations with Abstract Boundary Conditions

We investigate C0-semigroup generation properties of the Vlasov equation with general boundary conditions modeled by an abstract boundary operator H . For multiplicative boundary conditions we adapt techniques from [18] and in the case of conservative boundary conditions we show that there is an extension A of the free streaming operator TH which generates a C0semigroup (VH(t))t>0 in L. Further...

A Simple and Systematic Approach for Implementing Boundary Conditions in the Differential Quadrature Free and Forced Vibration Analysis of Beams and Rectangular Plates

This paper presents a simple and systematic way for imposing boundary conditions in the differential quadrature free and forced vibration analysis of beams and rectangular plates. First, the Dirichlet- and Neumann-type boundary conditions of the beam (or plate) are expressed as differential quadrature analog equations at the grid points on or near the boundaries. Then, similar to CBCGE (direct ...

A new method to impose no-slip boundary conditions in dissipative particle dynamics

Dissipative particle dynamics (DPD) is a potentially very effective approach in simulating mesoscale hydrodynamics. However, because of the soft potentials employed, the simple no-slip boundary conditions are difficult to impose. In this work, we first identify some of these difficulties and subsequently we propose a new method, based on an equivalent force between walland DPD-particles, to imp...

Dilations‎, ‎models‎, ‎scattering and spectral problems of 1D discrete Hamiltonian systems

In this paper, the maximal dissipative extensions of a symmetric singular 1D discrete Hamiltonian operator with maximal deficiency indices (2,2) (in limit-circle cases at ±∞) and acting in the Hilbert space ℓ_{Ω}²(Z;C²) (Z:={0,±1,±2,...}) are considered. We consider two classes dissipative operators with separated boundary conditions both at -∞ and ∞. For each of these cases we establish a self...
